How To Complete the Provincial Filipino Cultural Centre Vision Survey

Mabuhay House Society is excited to be working closely with the Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport in supporting and promoting the provincial Filipino cultural centre vision survey.  Currently, we are at the initial stages of engagement to get the provincial Filipino cultural centre to the Treasury Board. The Vision survey takes about 5 - 10 minutes to complete and is available both in English and Tagalog. All responses go directly to the BC government.

In order to make the process easier, MHS has made a step-by-step guide to help you successfully submit the survey.

How-to Fill out the Vision Survey

1. Make sure you click the correct link:  https://engage.gov.bc.ca/provincialfilipinoculturalcentre/

Homepage for the Vision survey has a short blurb about the provincial Filipino cultural centre on top of a gradient background. The official BC logo (sun rising over mountains) sits at the top.

Important Note: The Vision survey is hosted on the official BC government website. If the survey you are filling out leads you to another website, it is not the province’s survey.

You should also be able to see the BC Logo at all times filling out the survey. You'll notice the rising sun behind the mountains image to represent our Province.

2. The first page looks like this. Don’t be intimidated by the large amount of text: you will not need to write this much when you fill out the survey. When you read this page over, you will find a more detailed explanation of the Vision survey in both English and Filipino.

The first page of the Vision survey has short paragraphs explaining the engagement process for the provincial Filipino cultural centre. The official BC logo sits at the top, beside 'Ministry of Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport'.

All information collected is held by the Ministry for Tourism, Arts, Culture and Sport, and all of your information is held in trust with the full force of Data Protection legislation in place!

3. Make sure to scroll all the way to the bottom and click ‘Next page’.

The navy 'Next page' button at the bottom of the first page of the Vision survey.

4. The survey will then ask you 6 different questions about what you want to see in the provincial Filipino cultural centre.

A sample question in the Vision survey asks what's important to have in a provincial Filipino cultural centre, with options to rank from 'Less Important' to 'Very Important'

5. As seen above, the survey will give you different options to choose from. However, there will also be an option to write your own ideas at the bottom of the page. Please use this space to add anything that is important to you in regards to the provincial Filipino cultural centre, that has not already been mentioned. This can mean anything from affordable housing to basketball courts; the sky’s the limit!

The space in the survey which gives you the option to write your own ideas at the bottom of the page.

5. The last question that the survey will ask you before submitting is your postal code. This is a required question, so make sure to complete with the correct postal code, otherwise your survey will not be counted.

The last question of the Vision survey asks for the first three digits of the user's postal code.

6. When you have successfully finished and submitted the survey, this message will pop up on your screen:

The 'Thank you' message that pops up when a user has successfully completed the Vision survey.

If you do not get this message, this means that an error may have occurred and your survey may not have been submitted. Please either restart or return to the previous page to check if you did not miss any sections of the form. It is very important that you get this message. If an error has occurred, you can try refreshing your browser. If that doesn’t work, you can close your browser completely and restart. Then follow the survey link to try again.

Why is the Vision survey important?
Your ideas will help inform the facilities and programming within the provincial Filipino cultural centre. Essentially, the Vision survey is an opportunity for you to let the government know what is important to you.

The more people who respond to the province's Vision survey, the more they hear that this is a project that matters to us!
