Join us in commemorating the 96th death anniversary of Benson Flores (also known as Ben Flores), the first documented Filipino to settle in Canada. A respected fisherman and resident of Bowen Island, Benson Flores passed away on April 11, 1929, and was laid to rest at Mountain View Cemetery in Vancouver.
This memorial gathering honours his life, legacy, and the enduring presence of Filipino Canadians in the history of British Columbia. The program will include a short ceremony, reflection, and a moment of remembrance at his gravesite.
All are welcome to attend and pay tribute to this pioneering figure in Filipino Canadian history.
Hosted by United Filipino Canadian Associations in British Columbia
